 Hi bloggers! it's been pretty boring in lock down.  but I have learnt some new things! this is how to do bedmas! check  0ut my video! I actually struggled with words when making this. but I learnt so much! Aladdin 2021: An amazing production!!!

and good day to 

you, worthy friends, Hi there! 

I'm sure you've heard of our 2021 production,

right? Yeah? Alright. Then, lets begin.First of all, Our teachers 

are amazing! I just want to say,we wouldn't have gotten anywhere

without them. they're the best. thank you Mrs. Osborn, Mrs. Davies, 

Miss Roberts and finally, Miss Smith. These teachers helped us rehearse 

lines, they taught us the dances for our songs, and they even went to 

every place in Christchurch to gather our costumes and props. They 

even made most of them then had the props sitting in their living 

rooms for three weeks! moving on, special thanks to our crew!

they handled props and part of the scenery! thanks! We

 made a lot of fun memories in rehearsal, show nights, 

we really made memories every day! I loved being

Babkak in the same cast with most of my friends in 

production. If I had the choice, I would never want 

it to end! I Had a great time on stage for my first 

time! The show was so much fun! I didn't even

think I would get a speaking role, I had never

been on stage like that before! In my opinion, 

Production was the best thing I ever tried to

audition for. without production, I would've

never found the friends I have today!!!!!!!!

Will it hold?! A STEAM wonder...

Welcome back bloggers!

This Wednesday we did a STEAM challenge! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, we did the hold weight challenge! You want to know how it works? it basically works like this, you have 10 pieces of newspaper and 1m of sticky tape. you get 5 mins to plan and 25 mins to build your design, the challenge is to just build something that can hold at least 1 textbook for 3 seconds. We had to be in groups of 5, I think our group did really well because we completed the overall task.

The Holocaust and how it left a mark on history: A website of the past.

kia ora! This is AJ from toroa, back with what I learnt.

this term in literacy, Mr. G's literacy group focused on the history of the Holocaust. the Holocaust is the period of time when the Nazis and their leader (Aldof Hitler), discriminated against specific people, for example,

Jewish people and Gypsies,

the LGBTQ+ community, 

People with mental heath issues,

People with disabilities,

People with a darker skin colour.

We all made websites about the Holocaust this term, some had a specific part of the Holocaust that the writer focused on. for example,

The Nazis and how they drew power

How Jewish Peoples lives were affected.

You get it. my main focus for my website was Jewish people and what pain they went through. you can read my website for a bit more. Bye for now team!

This is the explanation of Yanny and Laurel. 

By now you've probably heard of the Yanny or Laurel phenomenon.What did you hear? Yanny or Laurel? This question is driving heaps of people INSANE! are you wondering why some people hear yanny, And some hear laurel? Well, It's time to find out. 

The Yanny and Laurel clips are distorted, it contains a lot of high frequency information, more than usual, it turns out that the different speech sounds we hear depend on what frequencies are in those sounds. so some sounds like  aaaaa or mmmm have a lot of low frequency information in them. and sounds like sssss or eeeee have a lot of high frequency information in them. the difference between you hear Yanny  or Laurel is whether you hear a high or low frequency,

some people have trouble hearing high frequencies (like anny) this just means they're getting older or their hearing isn't what it used to be. some causes of having trouble with hearing high frequencies can be , playing the drums without earplugs or earmuffs, going to heaps of rock concerts, using headphones that dont have a good enough quality,  being in an space with too much noise, or even anything that damages your ability of hearing high frequencies. 

  I think that should have explained the Yanny and Laurel Phenomenon If that didn't give you an explanation on whether you hear Yanny or Laurel, You might want to watch the video at the top, but otherwise I've explained why you might hear Laurel and not Yanny, I've explained why some hear differently, and I've tried to explain the Yanny and Laurel phenomenon as best as I can. Make sure to check my blog every Friday for a new post! Bye for now team!

                                            This is my K.O.S comic strip! 

K.O.S stands for keeping ourselves safe, In this lesson we focused on keeping ourselves and others emotionally safe, 

in this comic strip this girl feels left out, but her friend doesn't leave her she stays with her friend, she knows she's responsible of keeping her friend emotionally safe in this situation and she knows to do the right thing and look out for her friend. Just think, sometimes we are responsible someone else's emotional safety, sometimes our friends and family need us, so we need to be there to keep them emotionally safe. bye for now team, and remember to be back for another post every week.
